The restrictions were imposed against a large part of the shadow fleet of tankers and illegal operators that transport the Iranian regime’s oil for export.

The US Treasury has expanded sanctions against the oil and petrochemical sectors of Iran, sanctions due to Tehran’s massive missile attack against Israel. This was announced on Friday, October 11, by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury (OFAC).

It said restrictions were imposed against ten entities in multiple jurisdictions. In addition, sanctions are imposed on 17 vessels for their involvement in the operations of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), against which the US has previously imposed restrictions.

In addition, the US State Department imposed restrictions on six entities and six vessels. The reason was deliberate participation in the operations of buying and selling and transporting oil and oil products from Iran.

It is noted that the restrictions are aimed at a large part of the shadow fleet of tankers and illegal operators that transport the Iranian regime’s oil for export.
