New buses have finally started operating in Balkhash

Posted on 08/05/2024

The Akimat of Balkhash and the carrier were able to agree on the amount of subsidies for socially important routes, and new buses went on line for the first time, reports the correspondent.

New buses produced by the Saransk QazTehna plant arrived in Balkhash in mid-March . Balkhash residents have been waiting for the arrival of new buses for the last 10 years. Akim of Balkhash Sapar Sataev promised the townspeople that the new equipment will go on flights after Nauryz as soon as validators are installed on them. However, this did not happen.

The main Balkhash carrier Ortalyk TransService LLP refused to release cars on the line. A dispute arose around the subsidization of socially significant city routes. According to information from the head of the housing and communal services department of Balkhash, Anuar Samiev, the akimat and the carrier previously agreed on the amount of subsidies. It amounted to 280 million tenge. Now, after purchasing new buses, the management of the LLP demanded that this amount be increased to more than a billion tenge.

Bus departures have been postponed. A special commission began to study the documents provided by the carrier, which they used to justify such a sharp increase in the amount of subsidies.

The commission completed its work, the akimat and the limited liability partnership found a compromise. The amount of subsidies for the year amounted to 540 million tenge.

“They provided their calculations. The Subsidy Commission studied them. We requested some supporting documents, and based on these documents we lowered the calculations to 540 million tenge for the remaining year. We approved. In fact, now we will look and make payment,” said the head of the housing and communal services department, Anuar Samiev.

New buses began to go on routes. According to the housing and communal services department, out of 22 buses received, 17 are already transporting Balkhash residents. As validators are installed, the remaining buses will also start operating.
